Hello. I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook. He's an economist by day and artist by night. You've seen Russ Thibeault on this program. But the President of Applied Economic Research in Laconia is also a self-taught artist. Driven by curiosity Thibeault took up watercolor painting at age 40. As Outlook's Ally McNair tells us, his one-man art show focuses on more than a year of work at a tiny roadside pond in downtown Laconia. |

One as a war-hero, the other for our STATE MOTTO. "Live free or Die": Give us the BACKGROUND on that. why have we ABRIDGED the saying. Q GENERAL KNOWLEDGE CATEGORY: ** There are 5 Seasons instead of 4 in NH. ** Maybe 6 -- if you count BLACK FLY season POLITICS: "First in the Nation" Voting: Dixville Notch. and, the Presidential Primary -- so much a part of the state's identification. ** Is there a LESSER KNOWN political tidbit in the book?? The Flag Hill Winery and Distillery in Lee is the focus of this week's "Making It in New Hampshire" report. For 15 years owner Frank Reinhold has been making wine from homegrown grapes. from there his business has skyrocketed. Outlook Videographer Steve Giordani takes us to the winery for that all-important fall harvest to learn just how wine in New Hampshire is produced. |

The winery's tasting room in Lee is open to the public year round: Wednesdays through Sundays. Flag Hill has grown beyond just wine making. It's first distilled product, "General John Stark Vodka" hit store shelves in 2004. |
